China hints US is behind Nord Stream bombings

The Chinese Foreign Ministry pointed the finger at the U.S. for the bombing of the Nord Stream gas lines, recalling U.S. President Joe Biden’s words in which he threatened to end Nord Stream if Russian forces crossed Ukraine’s border.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying hinted on Sunday that the United States was behind the attacks on the Nord Stream-1 and Nord Stream-2 transmission lines to Europe.

The indirect Chinese accusation of the US came in the way the Chinese diplomat framed some questions in a tweet: “Who is behind the sabotage in Nord Stream? Who is the biggest beneficiary?”

The Chinese spokeswoman attached her tweet to three references.

The first included US President Joe Biden’s statement, in which he spoke publicly and frankly about the possibility of “ending Nord Stream” if Russian forces crossed the Ukrainian border.

In the second, there was talk of the “enormous opportunities” that opened up for the United States after the sabotage of the pipelines.

In the third, a Pentagon report emerged on the training of divers from the U.S. special forces.

Reuters had previously reported that a US Navy reconnaissance plane flew near the Nord Stream pipeline area during the Sept. 26 gas leak incident.

An investigation conducted by the Swedish security service, last Thursday, reinforced suspicions that the sabotage of the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 lines was the result of explosions near them, which caused a gas leak in the Baltic Sea.

Fox News reported in late September that Joe Biden US administration be involved in the destruction of Nord Stream pipelines, noting that the US government announced, in February, its desire to get rid of the gas pipeline that supplies Europe.

On 26 September, initial reports of two attacks on two pipelines exporting Russian gas to Europe, and Germany, Denmark and Sweden did not rule out a deliberate sabotage against these pipelines at the bottom of the Baltic Sea.

What Are
Geo-Poli-
Cyber™ Risks?

What Is Geo-Poli-Cyber™?

MLi Group created the terms Poli-Cyber™ and Geo-Poli-Cyber™ (GPC™) in 2012 and 2013 based on the philosophy that if you cannot identify and name the threat, you cannot mitigate that threat.

Geo-Poli-Cyber™ attacks are political, ideological, terrorist, extremist, ‘religious’, and/or geo-politically motivated.

More Sinister Than Financial Motivations

Geo-Poli-Cyber™ attacks are significantly different from financially motivated cyber-attacks in damage, scale, magnitude as well as in risk mitigation strategies and solutions.
