As the global landscape of cybersecurity threats continues to evolve, a recent discovery has revealed a concerning vulnerability in the White House’s network infrastructure. Special thanks must go to Researchers from Layer3 Intel who detected the residential proxy services being used by White House staffers, allowing others to rent internet addresses and potentially compromising national security, and Brian Krebs for reporting on its cyber security risk.

However, calling this as a cyber vulnerability breach is undervaluing the grave risks and detriment on America’s political, economic, and sovereignty independence.
This is why Survivability News will be reassessing these discoveries in this and future posts from a Geo-Poli-Cyber and Survivability risks, threats and warfare ramifications and especially in light of recent War on Iran consequences as well as the midterm elections and results.
“Only Two Explanations are the most likely for these 28 “Residential Proxy” Services getting installed on White House computers.
- A – They were intentionally installed by people inside the white house which implies spies not serving America first are operating inside the brain of the empire.
- B – The 28 “Residential Proxy” Services were installed remotely. This is a consideration that is as scary. It means the White House and our nation’s cyber defense are being defended by very incompetent people.
Both represent a grave Geo-Poli-Cyber Breach of the United States and its strategic decision making directly from the brain of the Empire.”
Commented MLi Group & Survivability Subsidiaries Executive chairman Khaled Fattal about this event.
The proxy services, which are often provided by companies based in China or Russia, make it simple for customers to rent someone else’s internet address, anonymizing their web traffic and spoofing their true location. This can pose significant risks, as malicious actors can use these services to access confidential networks and compromise sensitive information.
Although one of the proxy services detected was identified as Infatica, a Russian company founded by Vladimir Fomenko, whose hosting firm King Servers was previously talked about linking it to cyberattacks on US election systems in 2016.
It is worth noting that these services getting installed on White House computers could have used Infatica as a middle-man Proxy. Doing so would point the fingers on Russia and hides the true country origin behind this white House cyber breach. The identity of the originating country can be investigated if the white House and Trump administration is interested in identifying their true perpetrators and their motives.
“Some of these resellers sell bandwidth for as low as 60 cents a Gigabyte, that means for less than a dollar you can gain access into some of the most confidential and trusted networks,” Brundage told KrebsOnSecurity. “The reseller ecosystem further enables this with any criminal able to buy access while skipping KYC [Know Your Customer] processes.”
Whether Infatica’s is truly the original source of these services or a middle Proxy used to appear founder has a history of involvement in state-sponsored cyberattacks raises serious concerns about the potential for geopolitical cyber warfare.
The White House’s use of residential proxy services has exposed the US to a range of risks, including account takeover and other cybercrime activity, advertising fraud, and mass content scraping for AI projects. Furthermore, the vulnerability of these services has been exploited by cybercriminals in the past, allowing them to probe each proxy endpoint’s local network for vulnerable systems to infect with malware.
The ease with which malicious actors can access these networks is alarming, with some proxy services offering bandwidth for as low as 60 cents a Gigabyte. This low cost and widespread availability make it an attractive target for criminals looking to exploit vulnerabilities and gain unauthorized access to sensitive information.
The discovery highlights the need for governments and corporations to be aware of the risks associated with residential proxy services and to take steps to mitigate them. Implementing robust security measures, such as regular monitoring and patching of networks, can help to prevent cyber threats and protect sensitive information.
